DIY: Decorate your Laptop

Hi everyone! Today I decided to post a quick DIY for decorating your laptop in a simple way that can be personalized to your liking.

Recently I've grown tired of my Macbook's plain silver design. I wanted to look at something more "me" every time I whipped out my laptop to type a paper or drone around the web. Sure, there is a countless amount of laptop stickers and "tattoos" to apply, but I wanted something that would completely suit my style. At the same time I realized my laptop is in a definite need of a hard shell case considering the amount of times I tote it around and toss it. Combining those two needs together, I came up with a simple and cheap way to personalize my Macbook.

I browsed the web until I came across a cheap crystal clear case on eBay for the low price of $9 (what a steal!) After I received the case, creating my new laptop "skin" was a couple of quick steps away...

1. Find a crystal clear hard shell case for the laptop that you own. You can find many for a reasonable price on sites like Amazon and eBay.

2. Clean the exterior of your laptop. (This is optional, of course, it simply aids in having a clean look)

3. Browse the web for any images or quotes you like! Open a word document or picture formatter and compile these images into any pattern you enjoy. You can choose to put these images in a large gird, square, or even just have them randomly placed like a collage.

4. Print your pictures and begin to cut them out in the style you want them to be in.

5. Place your images in your desired pattern atop of your macbook pro (without the case of course)

6. Gently place the top cover of your new case over them images and onto your laptop, therefore securing them in place and having a finished collage design!

Ps. I'm sorry for the lack of visual aids in this post. Unfortunately my camera needs some tweaking and I could not seem to find any images of laptop collages online :P. Nevertheless, I hope you find this helpful!

We're all mad here: A rainy day in Central Park

Central Park has always been the epitome of nature in the gray concrete land of Manhattan. I've been traveling there for picnics, events, and sightseeing ever since I was two, and I continue to do so today. I must admit however perhaps it would have been a smarter idea to check the weather before planning out a day at the famous boathouse because the lazy tumbling gray clouds that formed eventually got the best of me.
If you're not a fellow New Yorker, or have never seen Central Park or the boathouse here's a little info:

Loeb Boathouse

The iconic Loeb Boathouse offers boat and bicycle rentals, gondola rides, and even an exquisite dining experience all under one striking, green patina-coated roof. It is recommended that visitors make use of its shuttle service, taking passengers to and from Fifth Avenue and the Boathouse's 72nd street location within the Park.
Recognizing the need for a boathouse at the Lake, Calvert Vaux designed a wooden structure that would last from 1873 until 1954. Vaux's beautiful, two-story, Victorian edifice was eventually torn down, though its original purpose was carried out by its replacement, known as the Loeb Boathouse.

Anyway, as you may have concluded by now it began to rain while I was boating. Sure, the rain provided for a nice picture or two...but the same positive effects can't be said for my clothes...

The rain quickly picked up and morphed itself into somewhat of a little storm chasing me and many other park goers under one of the parks many tunnels. Within fifteen minutes the park was  soaked. The grass was glistening and dripping with "New York's finest" rainwater. Mud and dirt plummeted down the small ridges and hills as I began my pilgrimage to the bus. It was somewhat of a adventure...somewhat.

Oh. if you're wondering about the title of this post it's because of the infamous statue that lies in the park of Alice herself. I snapped a few pictures of it right before the storm came...

Is that the Cheshire cat I spy? Well, as he once explained to Alice..."We're all mad here"

P.S
Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate!

First Blog...Oh my!

Today I find myself hunched over my laptop typing away at my first blogpost on this new blog. Sadly, I've found myself in this position two or three times before. I'll admit to the petty crime of previously creating blogs that quickly died out due to my own lack of motive. Fortunately, those blogs were produced when I was younger and much more interested in exploring the various types of themes a blog could have instead of actually using the blog to share my opinions. Well...Here's to a new start! I can only hope to gain from this blogging experience and hopefully introduce myself as a writer of different sorts. I hope you can gain something from the future posts in which I will spew out random thoughts, reviews, tips, and other miscellaneous topics onto this site. :) Please leave comments and suggestions. Any blog requests are completely welcome. You can also email me with anything you'd like to say. You can find my email under the "About Me" widget on the right.
