Central Park has always been the epitome of nature in the gray concrete land of Manhattan. I've been traveling there for picnics, events, and sightseeing ever since I was two, and I continue to do so today. I must admit however perhaps it would have been a smarter idea to check the weather before planning out a day at the famous boathouse because the lazy tumbling gray clouds that formed eventually got the best of me.
If you're not a fellow New Yorker, or have never seen Central Park or the boathouse here's a little info:

The iconic Loeb Boathouse offers boat and bicycle rentals, gondola rides, and even an exquisite dining experience all under one striking, green patina-coated roof. It is recommended that visitors make use of its shuttle service, taking passengers to and from Fifth Avenue and the Boathouse's 72nd street location within the Park.
Recognizing the need for a boathouse at the Lake, Calvert Vaux designed a wooden structure that would last from 1873 until 1954. Vaux's beautiful, two-story, Victorian edifice was eventually torn down, though its original purpose was carried out by its replacement, known as the Loeb Boathouse.

Anyway, as you may have concluded by now it began to rain while I was boating. Sure, the rain provided for a nice picture or two...but the same positive effects can't be said for my clothes...
The rain quickly picked up and morphed itself into somewhat of a little storm chasing me and many other park goers under one of the parks many tunnels. Within fifteen minutes the park was soaked. The grass was glistening and dripping with "New York's finest" rainwater. Mud and dirt plummeted down the small ridges and hills as I began my pilgrimage to the bus. It was somewhat of a adventure...somewhat.
Oh. if you're wondering about the title of this post it's because of the infamous statue that lies in the park of Alice herself. I snapped a few pictures of it right before the storm came...
Is that the Cheshire cat I spy? Well, as he once explained to Alice..."We're all mad here"
P.S
Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate!
These two photos were taken by me...Please ask before using!
